About Marcella
Hi there. I’m Marcella, though most people call me Marcy.

I’ve spent over a decade leading marketing and storytelling work for mission-driven technology companies, partnering with nonprofits, educational institutions, and foundations. I am passionate about helping meaningful work reach the people it is meant to serve.
​
That commitment began long before my career did.
​
My first experience with philanthropy came before I knew what it was. One Christmas morning in the early 90s, our family woke up to a tree surrounded by more gifts than we were used to seeing. Even my mother had presents waiting for her, including a bottle of perfume. I did not know then that we had been chosen for an Adopt-A-Family program. I only knew the feeling of being supported by people we had never met.

That feeling stayed with me—the warmth of it, the sense that we mattered to someone beyond our walls.
​
Years later, I understood what had happened. Someone had chosen generosity without expectation. Someone had decided our family mattered. That quiet act shaped how I see the world and what I choose to work on.

I have built my career around that understanding.
​
I work with mission-driven technology companies because I believe in scale and systems that can extend reach and impact. I also work directly with nonprofit organizations because proximity matters. Being close to the work keeps it human and connects me to the people and stories behind it.
At the center of everything I do is story. Story as connection. Story as trust. Story as a way to remind people that they are not alone.

Today, I live in the Finger Lakes region of New York State, where nature offers grounding and perspective. It is a place that mirrors how I try to work: thoughtfully, intentionally, and with purpose.

I believe good work should feel the way that Christmas morning felt to me. Warm. Unexpected. Dignifying. Rooted in generosity.
